The 30 Day Book Challenge! – Day 5 – A Book That Makes You Happy

Welcome to a brand new feature that is going to run for this month – this April we are going to celebrate the world of Books! The last few weeks and months we have all been part of a weird world to say the least so this month we thought it would be nice to talk about something that allows you to escape even if it just for a chapter at a time. So this month we are taking on the 30 Day Book Challenge and looking at a different topic each day, enjoy!

Day 5 – A Book That Makes You Happy
NAME OF BOOK: Happyslapped By A Jellyfish, Karl Pilkington

happy slappedI know that we have already spoken about Karl Pilkington on this list already but I had to include this book on the list because Happy Slapped By A Jellyfish is a book that genuinely makes me happy. It is a book that it is sort of like a comfort blanket, it makes me smile, and I have read it so many times that I know it inside out. That is fine though because you all need a book like that!

This book is very Karl Pilkington in it’s way as it is full of diary entries from his travels, real life and much more. It also is full of illustrations, photographs and mini poems as well. It doesn’t matter how many times you read the stories he tells you in this book, it will still make you laugh out loud no matter what. Some of the best chapters are called Lanzarote, Wales, Carribbean and Lake District.

The thing that I like about this book is the writing, it is not perfect.  it is written like how Karl speaks and I think that is why it is a great book to read for esacpism. The fact that you can hear Karl reading it in your ear leads to make you laughing out loud.

I think that out of all of Karls books this is my favourite. I dip in and out of this book a lot and it is a really fun read.
