Forgotten Songs! – This Week – Breathe

There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them on cheesy countdowns run by music channels over Christmas if you are lucky.

So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

Breathe – Blu Cantrell feat Sean Paul

In 2003, this song was always played on the radio, music channels and everything in between. It was a catchy song and I remember the music video was very blue in colour and was a lot of close ups and high angles in the hat and bright lipstick. I heard it for the first time in ages the other day and forgot how catchy it was.

Breathe was a song that was created for Blu Cantrell’s album Bittersweet when it was decided it would be released Sean Paul’s vocals were added to the track. The song was remixed and it features a slightly altered instrumental of Dr Dre’s song ‘What’s The Difference’ on the track.

The single was released on the 28th July 2003, it was under the record label of Arista and produced by Andrea Martin and Ivan Matias. The song Breathe was most successful in the UK than any other country, it went straight to number 2 and it also went platinum. It didn’t chart as well in the USA but it did stay in the charts for 20 weeks.
