Life Lessons From Sitcoms – My Family

Welcome to this months feature all about sitcoms and comedies, I watch a lot of them and always have done for as long as I can remember and looking back on them, I have learnt so many life lessons along the way. So I thought why not shine a light on them and share them with the world – some of them are important some of them are silly little things but I think it is always interesting to share. Today’s life lesson comes from –  My Family

Life Lesson Learnt: Some Of The Best People You Meet Will Only Be Around For A Small Part Of Your Life

Growing up I adored My Family as it was a great show with lots of fun – but the most fun and great parts of the show came from one particular character and that was Nick. I adored Nick, he was everything I wanted from a comedic character as well as a scruffy cute look to go with it as well. Whilst his humour was silly and really wacky it was one part of the show that really made My Family fantastic.

The relationship between Nick and the father Ben was the best part of the show and it created so much comedy moments. I remember when it was announced that Kris Marshall was leaving the show I was so upset – I watched a few of the things he did after the show but him leaving My Family left a hole in my heart.

My Family never really recovered after Nick left – there are some very good episodes but there are also some that are very bad as well. The one thing that this whole experience taught me was that in life some of the best people you meet don’t stay around for very long sometimes.

I have some amazing people in my life, there are people that I have met that have only been in my life for a few months and then you lose contact with them – but it doesn’t matter because that moment in time when you did know them well can make some of the best memories for the future.  There are some people that when I think of their name they put a smile on my face because they really create so many great times, for example, I lived in America in 2010 and have some great memories with some great people, a lot of people I met in University I cherish the fun I had with them and even exes – there may be a reason that they are your ex but in time you can still remember the good times and look back with a smile. That’s why i love writing diaries as you can always paint the picture of the memories of these people.

So whilst Nick may of left My Family, I still will always love those two seasons and will always adore them.
