Welcome to this months feature all about sitcoms and comedies, I watch a lot of them and always have done for as long as I can remember and looking back on them, I have learnt so many life lessons along the way. So I thought why not shine a light on them and share them with the world – some of them are important some of them are silly little things but I think it is always interesting to share. Today’s life lesson comes from – The Big Bang Theory
Life Lesson Learnt: Science!
You know, this probably sounds a little bit silly but I do find that The Big Bang Theory has actually taught me bits of Science that I had never known before! I am not sure saying that, I can start quoting equations left right and centre but it has definitely allowed me to understand some theory and ideas around them a lot better then before. An example is Schrodinger’s Cat – that I didn’t even know existed know I understand it!
Whilst this show may not be for everyone you really have to praise what it has done to promote science. The producers worked closely with real life scientists to make sure that a lot of it was based on truth. Everything science based was fact checked by real physic lecturers. The actress who plays Amy Farrah Fowler, Mayim Bialik has PHD in Neurosciences and Biology so could help out as well.
If The Big Bang Theory had been around when I was a kid I am sure that I would of done better in Science. All I ever had was Substitute teachers who couldn’t control the class. If I had this I would of got better scores and even though I got a B, this show could of f lead to an A in GCSE.
