When you wake up in a new city, you sometimes don’t want to have breakfast in the hotel and instead go into the town to go where the locals go. When we were in Aix-en-Provence we came across Bar Le Grillon and chose to try it for breakfast because a lot of locals were in it and that is usually a good sign it is a great place.
Bar Le Grillon is located on Cours Mirabeau and is open daily until 2am. We only went to this place for breakfast as we were only in Aix-en-Provence for a very short time so I cannot give my experiences of it in the evening. It is hard to find a lot about this place online so going to do it from memory.
The decor inside is wonderful, whilst it is predominantly a bar, the decor is quaint and full of little trinkets everywhere. For breakfast there is a couple of set menus you can choose that are really reasonable in price. I remember in the choice we had there was fresh orange juice, coffee, bread, bacon, egg and jam. Whenever you finished the bread they gave you more which was crazy because there is so much but it was wonderful.
The highlights for me was the homemade jam it was so delicious and the coffee as it was wonderfully strong and perfect.
