Have you ever wanted To listen to a new band or musician and not sure where to start? Well, instead of listening to their commercial music, why not start with something off the album first! Today we look at an album that was released in the last couple of weeks and is a collaboration album between Sting and Shaggy – 44/876
Morning is Coming
This song has a real reggae vibe to it and it feels like the sort of song you would listen to in the hot sun to chill out to. The thing that is good about this song is the brass instruments that intertwine throughout the song. Some of the lyrics are a bit silly but don’t let it put you off.
Gotta Get Back My Baby
On this song Shaggy takes the lead and it Has a very mellow sound to it. It is one of those songs that is easy to listen to and the drum beat throughout the track makes it an interesting listen
Just One Lifetime
The trumpets and piano are the thing that really make track. It’s really nice combination and creates a very good music combination. The lyrics are OK and I suppose are uplifting although I think the worst line is ‘what shaggy says’ I don’t know why but it really bugs me.
To Love And Be Loved
The more I listen to this the more I feel that Shaggy makes this album. I feel with a lot of these songs the Shaggy part is interesting and then Sting sings and the songs lose something and get a tad, well, dull. This is a song that highlights this point it starts promising that slowly declines throughout. If you are a fan of reggae I would say avoid this album it doesn’t do the genre justice
