Summary Of Show – The television gameshow Countdown with a very 8 Out Of 10 Cats twist.
About the Show
Back in 2012, Channel 4 hosted a night of ‘mash up’ television shows where presenters from one show would go into another famous Channel 4 show; this is how this television show originally came around. The version was really successful that they commissioned it as an actual full series.
The show is hosted by Jimmy Carr and just like the original game show the panelists are Sean Lock and Jon Richardson. To create the mix of the two shows together both Susie Dent and Rachel Riley from Countdown also appear on the show.
Each episodes last an hour and follow a similar format to the original Countdown; there are however a few differences from the original show and 8 Out Of 10 Cats bring their own unique comedy vibe to the show. For example, when the contestants are trying to work out the words Jimmy and Rachel Riley will be part of some silly dance or performance. Each of the contestants that are guests on the show also bring along with them their own ‘mascot’ that is usually something really silly and creates some of the humour.
There have been many guests that have appeared on the show including Rhod Gilbert, Jason Manford, Miles Jupp, Sara Pascoe, Jack Dee, Seann Walsh, James Acaster and Katherine Ryan. Each episode there is also a special guest helping out in the Dictionary Corner as well and some of the guests have included Joe Lycett, Isy Sutte, Tom Allen and Nick Helm.
