About the Show
There is a regular quiz show on Sky One that is all about sport and is full of comedy and fun along the way. A League Of Their Own was commissioned as a show that would be ‘an Olympic standard comedy show for anyone who loves their sport and a fun filled half hour for those who don’t.’ (Executive Producer Danielle Lux).
The aim of the show was to be a panel show that doesn’t take the world of Sport too seriously. Each week the captains, Freddie Flintoff and Jamie Redknapp are joined by sports personalities and comedians as well as panel regular Jack Whitehall. Over the time the show has been on air there has been a variety of guests including Jimmy Carr, Anthony Joshua, Frank Lampard, Rob Beckett and David Walliams.
The show is made up of three different rounds – the first one is about each team ranking different sports personalities, round two is all about the special sports guest in the studio and will be some sort of game related to them and the final round is the Right Guard challenge where one member of each team will do a physical challenge whilst the rest of the teams answer questions.
