Today we look at a show that was released in 2011 on ITV and ran for four episodes following one of the biggest comedians to come out of Scotland around the USA as he traveled along the route 66. The show was called Billy Connolly’s Route 66 and it was produced by production company Maverick Television.
The documentary starts in Chicago and throughout the series it sees him stop off at different locations en route. Some of the places that he visits includes the Gateway Arch in St. Louis (which he climbs), the ghost town of Glenrio in Texas, the grand canyon in Arizona and Oklahoma city.
The show is available on DVD if you want to catch up with it. The show got ok reviews in the media however people cridticied that is showed too much of the comedians and not actual America.
