Today we look at a game that was released in 2000 and was a party game that was released on the Dreamcast with the iconic character at the forefront, Sonic the Hedgehog. It was the first game featuring Sonic that could be classed as a party game and can have up to four players playing at the same time.
Sonic Shuffle was developed by Sonic Team Hudson Soft and Published by Sega. The aim of the game was to join Sonic and the gang attempting to restore a dream word by gathering shards of a powerful object dubbed the Master Precioustone.
The game had a variety of different styles that you could play – there was the Story Mode where you could only play as one person and defeat everyone to win the precioustones or a Versus Mode where you can play up to four people.
In the multiplayer game you can play as any of the characters from the Sonic franchise including Knuckles, Tails and Amy. The game in total has about 50 mini games and 30 events. Throughout the game you can do many challenges to open up new content and unlock new things.
The game received a very mix reception with people criticising the general gameplay and how long it takes to load content. The game was praised however for its graphics and sound.
