Whilst this may not be seen as a complete travel show in the fact that they don’t go that far on their journeys i am still including it in this article because there is a car at the centre point of the show and the whole point of the show is to TRAVEL somewhere – it is in the name of the titles after all, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.
The show started originally in 2012 and in the past few months has found a new sense of popularity as it has sprung onto Netflix Worldwide. The show is all set around a different vintage car each episode and the opening part of the show is Jerry Seinfeld introducing the audience to the said car, what it can do and it’s spec (sort of like you get on The Grand Tour of Top Gear). Jerry will then pick up a famous comedian and have a chat with them in the said automobile and then at the end – have some coffee (and the coffee always has the most artistic looking camera shots).
The part in the car isn’t your standard conversation – it is more about how the car handles whilst it is on the road – also sometimes Seinfeld will take the guest to do an activity or a event that they are not expecting – for example for Jimmy Fallon he surprised him by taking him on a boat.
It is not your average chat show, and in some ways it is not your average travel show or car show either but it is worth a watch as all the episodes are short and sweet. It is not just limited to stand up comedians it also includes comedic actors and actresses as well.
