Welcome to this Months feature! Now, January is a time when it is the start of something new and everything fresh! With that means that people are always on the lookout for new music! Well, this feature may not bring you a lot of new music but it will welcome you into my world! Music is a huge part of my life – if i am not listening to it, i am playing my guitar or keyboard or even writing a post for this site (Off The Record).
So to start off 2018 I wanted to write about a topic I love and I came across this daily challenge so I thought why not turn it into an article! So here we go! Lets start this monthly feature – Lost in Music (You probably have that song stuck in your head now its by Sister Sledge)
A Song that is currently stuck in your head – Hot Guys Have Problems Too – Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
I am a huge fan of Crazy Ex Girlfriend – I love the music and the story so much and the one thing I do is listen to the soundtrack ALOT on Spotify. The songs I tend to like alot on the show are the ones that are ‘meant to be’ about a serious topic but they are usually so stupid they are hysterically funny.
I do have a lot of their songs constantly stuck in my mind and one of those is the song ‘Having A Few People Over’ because again, it is so serious for such a silly topic that it always makes me laugh. Ever so often i find myself singing the line ‘ Tell Me I’m Ok Patrick’ if I had a good friend called Patrick they would of been so sick of me by now. The other song that is always in my head is I Go To The Zoo – because I used to work in a sea life centre and i always found if i felt down or needed to clear my mind then looking at the ‘fishes’ always made me feel better – so I feel a bit of a personal link to a few of the lyrics. (Although it was the sea turtles that always made me happy).
This song was on a episode of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend the other week and I find the beat to it soooooo addictive and also the lyrics make me laugh so so so much every time. I have only seen the episode once but like I said before my Spotify is constantly on repeat on this playlist and everytime it comes on it makes me laugh out loud. Ever so often i will have some of the lyrics stuck in my head. The thing I like about it is, whenever you think ah man i wish things were different you think of the lyrics of this song and it just makes me laugh. My favourite part is the over dramatic crying, it makes me laugh every. single. time.
