Lost In Music – A Song That You Have As Your Ringtone

Welcome to this Months feature! Now, January is a time when it is the start of something new and everything fresh! With that means that people are always on the lookout for new music! Well, this feature may not bring you a lot of new music but it will welcome you into my world! Music is a huge part of my life – if i am not listening to it, i am playing my guitar or keyboard or even writing a post for this site (Off The Record).

So to start off 2018 I wanted to write about a topic I love and I came across this daily challenge so I thought why not turn it into an article! So here we go! Lets start with the first in this monthly feature – Lost in Music (You probably have that song stuck in your head now its by Sister Sledge)

A Song That You Have As Your Ringtone: After Midnight – Blink-182

When I change phones, I change ringtones and then don’t change it again. That never used to be the case – i used to lovveee my phone at school in the days of the basic mobile because it had a ringtone creator and I used to love being creative and working out what notes it would be to make your favourite song. I even remember we used to go on the internet or wap to search ways to make certain songs. I wish I remembered songs that I created but it was such a long time ago.

With the most recent style of phones i don’t tend to buy many ringtones – on my current iPhone my ringtone is the Shaun The Sheep television song and it hasn’t changed since I got the phone back in 2016. I tend to have my phone a lot of the time on silent of vibrate – mainly because I work in an Edit Suite and have Producers in a lot of the time. One time I was getting a graphic request from a Journalist and my phone on loud text message went off. It was Homer Simpson saying ‘boring’ over and over again and it was at such a perfect moment you couldn’t of even made it up. We both looked at each other and laughed and my text message sound hasn’t changed but I have learnt my lesson about having it on loud in the suite.

On my phone before then I had the same ringtone I think for two phones in a row and that was the song After Midnight by Blink-182. It was my favourite song from the Neighbourhoods album and the first time I heard it was a live version that was posted on Youtube and i fell in love with it straight away. It is still one of my favourite songs and i absolutely adore it – on my ipod i had three different versions of this song – the original, the first live version and the version they performed on Lettermen I think it was. That is how much I loved that song. WHen I got my most recent phone I was going to have it again but forced myself to change. I loved the guitar at the beginning as a ringtone its such a beautiful sound for a ringtone and then when i changed phones I had to have the chorus because that is all the app store had.
