Travel Vs The Comedian – Four Comedians vs The Snow

The most recent trend in the travel show is to attach a comedy to it and there are so many – some serious, some spoofs, some that are the dynamics of an actual scripted comedy and others because they were one big practical joke! Travel Thursdays have just got bigger as we are now adding a comedic spin on it where we are looking at the comedian versus the travel.

Today we take a different twist on the subject and look at an event that made news this week that actually meant weather really won in the battle of travel vs the comedian – today we look at Snowgate.

In New York there has been a huge amount of snow and some parts of America are the coldest they have ever been on record. Four comedians, John Robins, Ed Gamble, James Acaster and Lloyd Langford went to the states for a holiday and break before, I guess all their crazy lifestyles of touring, radio shows and television begins for 2018. Ed Gamble and John Robins were keeping fans entertained on social media with photos of the guys having fun, enjoying the delights that the States had to offer.

Near the end of last week it became clear because of the weather that the guys would not be able to leave Thursday and they started to have issues about rebooking flights that Ed went to social media to try and get service and attention from American Airlines.

The flights eventually got rescheduled after a lot of research and pushing by Ed Gamble and even found them a place to stay. John Robins had to miss hosting his radio X show with Elis James which meant Josh Widdecombe covered. The story became a banter between comedians on twitter with Rob Beckett joining in the fun and PCD fans even did some photoshop art to lift Johns spirit.

They guys made the news in various outlets such as BBC News and Chortle even appeared on Sky News to do an interview.

It may not be your average Travel Vs The Comedian but it’s still a different and interesting perspective to look at it!
