There is one thing that people always ask around this time of year and that is what was the best gift you have ever received for Christmas? There is so much I could answer for this but a lot of this wouldnt really be about recent years. Like I have said in recent articles, I am never in the UK anymore for Christmas so presents are usually cmall and very silly things we can find in local shops – we usually have a small budget each and then get creative as to what we can buy for that price. I suppose the best presents really go back to my childhood. I have already told you about Buzz Lightyear so we are going to skip that story.
There are two toys i remember when I was a kid that was a hug deal for me when I received them as gifts. The first was a Tamagotchi, i never thought in a million years I would get one and when I saw one from mum and I opened it I cried! I was so happy that I had received a portable little alien that you keep in your pocket and feed digital burgers. Mine was a little Dinosaur and i never let him out of my site – apart from school, because my Primary School banned them.
Another toy i remember being so excited about getting was the original Furby. It was such a big present that year and I honestly thought I would never get one as it sold out in all shops really quickly and when i opened the present and saw that it was a Furby I was so happy, and probably cried then as well! I loved Akay the Furby, that Christmas when we got him, he fell asleep on top of the television when Chers Believe came on the television.
In recent years its really hard to think of a present that effected me in the way that those did but i love opening presents and love even the smallest gifts – Its not really about what you get, its more about the thought that counts and in recent years the sillier the present the better! For an example of silliness one present in recent years I received was a cooking glove in the shape of a cow and you open the mouth to pick up the tray – you have got to love Ale Hop!
