John Egan is a comedian from Green Bay in Wisconsin and when he is not making audiences laugh their socks off he is trying all the new weird and wonderful food and snacks that America has to offer! We have teamed up with John to bring you on this magical and sometimes tasty food journey!

We are going to delve into the facts and origins of the food and then will have a One Take Review by John. So, ladies and gentlemen welcome to the world of TASTE OF STATES

WATERMELON FLAVOURED OREOS

Being in the UK, we don’t seem to get many flavours of certain sweets or biscuits (this is why I think the UK M+M Store is a waste of time – Milk or nut flavour? How about coconut, cherry, mint, peanut butter, hazelnut, birthday cake or any of the other flavours i have tried in the US!) but luckily for us we have John Egan at hand to try out all these treats so we don’t have to! On todays agenda is another one from the archive and a flavour we definietely have not had over here (as its only really coming into fashion in general) Watermelon flavoured Oreo cookies.

In the summer of 2013, Oreo decided to release a new and unique flavour for the summer season – and that flavour was none other then Watermelon. The Oreo had a two toned colour centre to create the feeling of summer and the visual of a watermelon and was encased in a golden colour cookie. They were created in this way to connote the fun that summer can bring.

The cookies went on sale on June 10th of 2013 and was available whilst the stocks lasted. They receieved many positive reviews online as they did not taste artificial but actually as if watermelon had been blended with the cream or an Oreo. So how did the cookie add up foe John Egan – well let the man of 3 years ago tell us more! Over to you three years ago John!
