Question Roulette – Art, Monkeys and A Tree…

Three years ago i bought a book in Tampa which is meant to be a great for creative like minds and for the past three years I have made it my New Years Resolution to complete it. The book is called 642 Things To Write About by The San Francisco Writers Grotto. I never got round to writing many of them so what’s a better way then getting through them then writing a few as an article each week! Enjoy!

183. Write down three pieces of dialogue that you hear from three different conversations. Put those bits into the same conversation. Take it from there.

“That’s the union of the monkey, thats what they call it, the best meet we ever had.”

” Who wants to paint? ”

“I once saw a documentary on it but forgot the information”

The wonders of working as a security guard at an art museum is that everyone thinks that they are an art critic.

Today we have some unusual people in the North Wing of the Del Art Gallery a company that have decided to use the room forthe art specialist at the end of the corridor. The art specialist has been going in with pieces of the work to talk about it.

There is also a class of school children here on a school trip where they have to draw a version of the work on the wall. There there are the tourists. talking about the art as if they know what they are talking about.

184. One day a young boy climbs a tree and decides he won’t come down until his parents stop their divorce proceedings. Write about the event from the point of view of each parent.

“This is all Clives fault, he was the one who decided to sleep with his secretary – i don’t care about his excuses. I don’t care the fact that he broke my heart and ripped it in two but i DO care about what he is doing to Jack. Now Jack won’t come down – how do i even deal with this – i hate seeing him so upset but how do you explain to a seven year old that your parents can’t stay together.”

“I hate this situation and what it is doing to Jack but i can’t stay with Sally. I can’t deal with everything happening. Yes, it was awful of me to have an affair but it’s more then that – i needed to see if there was something else out there. I am not sure i love Judy but I need to be free, I hate how this is effecting my boy.”
