Travel vs The Comedian – Ade in Britain

The most recent trend in the travel show is to attach a comedy to it and there are so many – some serious, some spoofs, some that are the dynamics of an actual scripted comedy and others because they were one big practical joke! Travel Thursdays have just got bigger as we are now adding a comedic spin on it where we are looking at the comedian versus the travel.

Today we look at a one of the many documentary travel shows that comedy actor Ade Edmonson has hosted. Whilst he is famously known for characters such as Eddy in Bottom he is also a very good chef (just google Ade in Celebrity Masterchef or The Great British Bake Off to see how good he is) and he has done a variety of travel shows all about food.
Ade in Britain saw the actor travel across the U.K. In a caravan in search for some of the best foods and traditions that the great counties have to offer. Each episode was an hour and it first aired in 2011.
The show was created to show Ades love and passion for food and takes him on a fun journey. In each episode he tries new activities and cook in the same way that some of the local heritage dishes used to. He visits everyone from farmers to local producers to people who run restaurants and pubs in the area.
The show initially aired on ITV and since then is now available to buy on Amazon. It is a really fun and entertaining show and really is nice to see a show that is unique in how British it actually is.
