In the last 24 hours the news has sprung about that there is a new High School Musical in the making – although they are casting a whole new bunch of people to be in it. Jeffrey Hornaday (who has created Teen Beach Movie and Teen Beach 2) is going to be directing and in charge of  choreography for the film.

The film is apparently going to continue the story of the franchise and also introduce a bunch of new east high wildcats. The questions on most peoples minds in regards to this is how can you continue a story without the original cast being in it? Recently all the cast (apart from Zac Efron who has had the most success from the franchise) had a ten year reunion which begs the question will some of the original cast appear.

I think if they do, it’s going to be like the American Pie Franchise, what I mean by this is that I reckon that one of the original cast is going to appear to make it seem like they link to the original films. In American Pie, it is Jims dad that appears in all of the films and the stories are based around either the cousins of Jim or relatives to Stifler. My money is on Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale) being this regular appearance as at the end of the High School Musical 3 she says that she has taken up residence as the new Drama Teacher helper etc.
