A Little Thing Called

A Little Thing Called Music. – Voice Melters

There are certain singers that we all love because when they hit the high note you melt inside or a tear comes to your eye or you just feel instantly happy. I am a sucker for someone who can sing. It’s like when you go to the theatre and that singer hits the high note or starts to sing passionately it grabs you at the back of the throat but you don’t want to cry no…your not going to let that tear drip down you face…ok well.. maybe just the one.

Now I will admit it now, I am a sucker for a guy who can sing  (if he can make me laugh too then that really is a home run!). Many of time in my life I have had guy mates that are like my brothers not dating material or anyone that I would look at in that way  but as soon as I hear that one of them can sing and its good then i start to have a real soft spot for them. Not like fancy them but basically will try any excuse to get them to sing again in the future. One of my friends from my past job was so good at singing that I recorded him for a talent show we put on and converted the song into an MP3 so that I have it on my iTunes.

Now, there are some fantastic singers in the music industry and we all have our own favourite’s that make us happy, sad and also melt us inside with their voices. I will keep this blog post short and sweet (as next week you are in for a corker!) and give you a list of just some of the few singers out there whose voices make me melt inside and why.

Joshua Ramsey, Marianas Trench

The one reason why that Josh is on the list is that when he hits the high notes it seems so passionate. The last album was based around a story so each song has a meaning and once you understand the back story you feel the passion coming through in the song. His voice is a tad husky and really compliments his screeching of the high notes.

Lee Ryan, Blue

Blue, as mentioned in posts before, was one of my teen bands that i truly loved. However, the one reason i loved Blue (and the reason why i was disappointed in their most recent album) is that when Lee hits those high notes it instantly makes me melt. I love his voice it is still to this day one of my favourites in the music industry. However, I was severely disappointed with his solo career he had so much potential to go to the big time but his personality and is awful debut album def stood in the way.

Tom Delonge, Angels and Airwaves

Whether he is Blink 182 Box Car Racer, Angel and Ariwaves or just a name on the album cover, i will always love Toms voice. On a rainy day it makes me happy and on a happy day it makes me feel great. I love his voice, back in the early days when he was screechy and being all Tom Delonge-y over the songs or even now when his voice has developed and he is creating musical magic with AVA. This man can do no wrong in my eyes.

Brendan Urie, Panic! At The Disco

I have always been a huge huge fan of Brendans voice, I love it in the earlier songs when he is on the edge of whispering in some of the songs (and it is also quite sexy) I love the way again, he can hit the high notes of a song and then turn a song that he has created into another completely different song with his musical talents. Such a talented guy.

Jarvis Cocker, Pulp

Jarvis is not on here for his looks but actually just for his voice. The way that he can really bring the emotions of a song to life are fascinating. He uses whispering as an effect on songs and also since all their songs are pretty much stories, he really does take them to another level.

It’s nots just men on this list, here are a few women singers to add as well.

Celine Dion

Not the biggest fan of celine but growing up she was played a lot in our house hold so not sure if its nostalgia but when she hits the high notes it brings a lump in my throat, again it could be nostalgia of childhood but she is a fantastic singer.

Leona Lewis

Another singer that gets really emotional when singing sad songs and when she hits certain notes it gives me a lump in my throat. I tend to not listen to her a lot because of this especially the song Happy —> yeah that is one UNhappy song!

Lady GaGa

Away from the bizarre fashion and the crazy music videos, this lady can sing and when i saw her live i gained even more respect for her as an artist as she is such a strong singer. I love hearing her sing more jazz style songs but love You and I as well. What a singer!
