Podcast of the Week – Do The Right Thing (Comedy.co.uk)

If you are looking for a podcast that is formatted like a comedy panel show filmed in front of a live audience, then this is definitely the podcast for you. Do The Right Thing is a show that is filmed in front of a live audience and has a team of comedians on two panels that have to work out what is the right thing to do in any situation, from the simple to the damn right bizarre! The show is hosted by Danielle Ward (who is also on The Dave Gorman show on Absolute Radio) and each team has a captain: Margaret Cabourn-Smith (Has appeared on shows such as The IT Crowd, Miranda and Peep Show) and Michael Legge (who has appeared on many shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats and Would I Lie To You? ).

Many comedians have appeared on the panels for the show including Joe Lycett, Isy Suttie, Romesh Ranganathan, Katherine Ryan, Dave Gorman and Paul Foot. The show has been co-devised  by Fuzz Productions; they are also the producers of Pappy’s Flatshare Slamdown and Richard Herring: As It Occurs To Me. In 2012, the show won a Sony Award For the Best Internet Programme.

The reason that we have chosen this as Podcast as the week is because it is very different to all the other shows that we have recommended on here before. It is fast paced, funny and very entertaining right from the get go and does not need much explaining for you as a new listener to catch on what is happening. The presenters and the host are as great as any good television panel show such as Would I lie To You, 8 OUt 0f 10 Cats, Mock The Week as they, like these shows, bounce off each other making hilarious remarks and taking the mick out of each other.

Why not go to a live recording?

Why not go to a live recording?

With this podcast, it does not matter if you listen to it out of order, there are five seasons, so even if you start with the very latest episode it will not matter as each show there are new comedians and it is a whole new show with a whole new batch of brand spanking new situations.

If you are living in London, then why not like their Facebook page as they are always setting up live recordings and events for the show.
