Welcome to the feature where we talk to musicians about some of their favourite things about the industry. Today I speak to the band Illusions of Grandeur, who ave recently released Midnight. Today we find out what their favourite things about music are.

What is your Favourite:

Song you have written:

I would have to say “Upon my Life” because of the mix of metal and rock also the tempo really shows off the bands playing. IOG’s “Upon My Life” video was shot live at the tail end of The Rise of The Demons tour 2022 at The Vanguard in Hampton, VA. Upon My Life captures a section of the band’s live show. Additionally, the “Take Me Alive” video was shot at the same show.

A heater or personal air conditioner, you never know, and it sucks to be freezing and or boiling hot!

While on tour in the Ukraine in 2018 we planted a tree in the town of Smila out front of their city hall, they still send us updates on how the tree is doing, we are praying for Ukraine.

Era for music

Oh, for sure the 1980’s! Some of THE best albums were made from 1978 to 1986 that have ever been released

Part of making a record:

Really, all parts, from the writing to recording and mixing, it’s an expression of love for music!

Thing about performing at festivals:

The atmosphere of the crowds and all the bands, it’s just an alive place to be in those moments

Thing about the music industry at the moment

Well, that is a BIG question, I’d say fair payment to artists for streaming, it should be the same as radio airplay and easier for artists to be paid for their work!

Thing about this year so far?

2024 holds so many possibilities, we have some great tours coming up and the release of our new album! The Siren Rises PT1 The Raven Witch! So much more to come!
