Tell us about:

Your latest single you have released:

“Different Kind of Girl” is a song about self-discovery, letting your guard down and realising that sometimes another person can see something in you before you’re ready to see it in yourself. At its heart, it’s about becoming more confident in who you already are.

Your favourite lyric in this song:

“You turn my edges into curves.” I love it because it has more than one meaning. There’s something vulnerable about the idea of somebody softening your edges, but there’s also confidence and sensuality in it.

Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:

“The Now.” It’s still one of the songs I feel most connected to.

Your favourite song to play live:

“Call It Out.” It’s one of my new songs and I love the energy it has when I perform it live.

The song that was the longest to write and why?

“Fly Free Little One.” Baby loss is such an incredibly sensitive subject, and I wanted to make sure I treated the stories and emotions behind it with the care they deserved. It wasn’t something I ever wanted to rush.

One of your previous tracks you would recommend for first time listeners of your music and why?

“My Beating Heart,” because it was the first song I remember feeling genuinely proud of as an artist. It felt like an important moment in discovering my own sound and believing in what I was creating.

Dream collaboration:

Adele. I would absolutely love to hear what our voices and writing styles could create together and I just know we would have so much fun together but also I know we both have a very serious side.

Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:

An adrenaline rush. There’s that moment just before you start when everything heightens, and then as soon as I begin singing, I feel completely at home.

The track that is most fun to play live:

“Sorry Not Sorry.” It has such a fun energy and I love seeing the audience react to it.

Essential items you always take on tour with you:

Apart from my obvious music equipment …

My Tempur pillow, selection of gigging clothes and shoe options, gluten free snacks and fizz sticks, all of my skin care, hair care and make up products I have learned that having home comforts makes life on the road much easier!

Describe your fans in three words:

Loyal, supportive and fun.

A song released in the last few years by an artist or band you wish you had written:

“Stick Season” by Noah Kahan. I love how conversational and relatable the writing is while still carrying so much emotion.

What can we look forward to from your band this year?

Lots of energy, audience interaction and music that feels fun both on and off the stage. I want the live shows to feel like something we’re all part of rather than there being a barrier between the stage and the audience.
