Tell us about:

Your latest single you have released:

My latest single is “One Life.” It’s a song about mental health, perspective, and realizing that we only get one shot at this. It’s about trying not to waste your life living for everyone else and remembering to actually enjoy the time you have.

Your favourite lyric in this song:

The line that really sums up the song for me is the idea that you only get one life, so live it for yourself. That became the message behind the entire release.

Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:

I’d probably go with “Counting Days.” It’s always been one of those songs that really represents the heavier and more emotional side of Dead Defined.

Your favourite song to play live:

“Counting Days.” It has a lot of energy and translates really well live.

The song that was the longest to write and why?

Probably “One Life.” Not necessarily because the music took the longest, but because I wanted the message to come across properly. When you’re writing about mental health and something that actually means something to you, you don’t want to force it just to finish the song.

One of your previous tracks you would recommend for first time listeners of your music and why?

“Memories.” I think it gives a new listener a pretty good introduction to Dead Defined. It has the heavier rock side, but there’s also a lot of melody and emotion behind it.

Dream collaboration:

Mark Tremonti. He’s been a huge influence on me as both a guitarist and songwriter. I think his style mixed with the Dead Defined sound could make for something pretty heavy.

Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:

There’s always that rush right before it starts. Once you’re on stage, everything else disappears for a while and you’re completely focused on the music and the people in front of you.

The track that is most fun to play live:

Again, I’d probably say “Counting Days.” It has the kind of energy that makes it easy to get into once you’re on stage.

Essential items you always take on tour with you?

Phone, chargers, headphones, guitar gear, comfortable clothes, and probably way too much caffeine.

Describe your fans in three words:

Loyal. Passionate. Supportive.

A song released in the last few years by an artist or band you wish you had written:

“A Symptom of Being Human” by Shinedown. I love songs that can say something meaningful without overcomplicating it, and that one really connects with people.

What we can look forward to from your band this year:

More new music and continuing to build Dead Defined. “One Life” has been a big part of 2026, but I’m always writing and working on what comes next. I want to keep pushing the project forward, reaching new listeners, and seeing where the next release takes it.
