There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to the feature that will appear regularly in the travel section.

Most people visit Alnwick to go to the Castle to see where Quidditch was filmed in the Harry Potter films. When I visited, I had limited time so explored the town instead. This is one of the roads that I found really interesting so decided to take a photograph of it.

The main thing I like about the photograph is the framing – I enjoy the way I have deliberately placed the lamp on the left of the image to create a sense of depth to the photograph. It also means that you focus on the interesting building at the top of the hill as well.

The colour grade is quite minimal on this image but I think it works well and emphasises the drama of the photo. The grey clouds create emphasis and makes it really interesting photograph to look at.
