Tell Us about:
Your latest stand up show:
I just took Government Approved Comedian to the Fringe, and thirty days of the same show made me hone this baby until it is smooth as heck, and I can’t wait to bring it back out at the Women In Comedy Festival! It’s so much fun, and every show is a bit different – I haven’t had to deport anyone from my audience yet but there’s always a very fun chance.
Your favourite joke you have created:
I have a series of jokes about how long my boobs are, and I end the whole bit with the punchline “Tits-a me, Mario!”. It is my favourite joke because I had one singular walkout my entire Fringe career, and it was right after I said, Tits a me, Mario. Perfect.
Your favourite venue to perform at:
Monkey Barrel Comedy in Edinburgh is my dream venue, and I was so lucky to be able to debut there this Fringe! Great crowds, great comedians, and immaculate vibes.
The joke that was the longest to write and why?
Honestly, because it’s gone through so many transformations, much like the titular subject, my long boobs bit took me the longest. It was one of those bits I did, then dropped, then brought back again and again, growing each time, and I love being silly about something that I have to deal with every single day.
When I did a play during the Fringe written in a day by Stuart Laws, we had a bit about my long boobs giving me the power to play golf perfectly, and afterwards someone asked if I was wearing long breast prosthetics. No baby, these are all me.
Comedy hero:
My niece asked me the other day if I wanted to be a part of their “Burping and Farting Club”, and let me tell you that was the fastest YES in my life. Finally, a space built FOR me. Nothing has made me laugh as hard as that with my post-Fringe, worn out brain, so I’d have to say my niece is my comedy hero right now.
Dream venue to play at:
Since I’m a Government Approved Comedian (TM) on a 5-year visa, my dream venue would be 10 Downing Street. Let’s settle this once and for all, Andy Burnham.
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
Every time before I do a show, I tell myself that I’m just gonna have fun with this one, and that always gets me feeling tingly, like I got butterflies in my shoes and am wearing a hat of slight warmth. It’s a wonderful feeling.
The hardest joke to perform and why:
I have a bit where I do the splits at the end, and because I recently went to a friends’ wedding and overdid the splits multiple times, as I am wont to do when the tunes are banging, the splits are slightly painful. But I suffer for my art.
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
Orange juice and mascara. And extra pants, because you just never know.
Describe your fans in three words:
Hilarious, hot, haunting
What we can look forward to from you this year:
Lots more online content as I don’t have a day job and I DO have a wish to travel more for comedy and continue living in the UK for comedy, meaning I need to become more famous, and I need to do so immediately.
