Your latest stand up show:
My latest show is about death, getting older and laughing in the face of it. Before I became a comedian I used to work in palliative care so my attitude to death has changed and it’s been fun to play with it. This is not a sad wallowing show, but there is a murder mystery…
I’m so very proud of it and I can’t wait to start taking it around the country.
Your favourite joke you have created:
It’s a joke about Ozempic and why it’s not working for me… but to see the whole thing… (you know what I’m going to say next) you’ll have to come and see the show!
Your favourite venue to perform at:
The Frog and Bucket OBVIOUSLY and I’m not just saying that. I’m from Stoke on Trent so going to Manchester feels like going home. F&B forever.
The joke that was the longest to write and why?
Any joke where I described a death scenario. People are scared of death, and fair enough. So in order to write jokes about it, there had to be a dance, shifts in tone that made it really funny and not awkward for the audience.
Comedy hero:
Anyone with genuine funny bones. Alan Carr etc.
Dream venue to play at:
Wembley….but I will settle for The Old Trafford if I can’t get it.
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
Exciting! It always has been. Working in palliative care means that now, any gig I do isn’t that bad. I don’t even get scared about dying on stage, because at least in this job, no one in the room is actually dying in real life. (Well, most of the time.)
The hardest joke to perform and why:
There’s a joke in my show about my Nan getting hit by a car…that was pretty difficult. My Nan loves it, but the audience took a while to warm up to it…
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
Loads of thriller books and plenty of pants.

Goodlooking and good taste.
What we can look forward to from you this year:
I spent so much of last year working on this show that I’m looking forward to writing some brand new material, maybe do a bit of telly (tell my agent to sort it would ya?)
