Sometimes you want to see a show that is engaging, has really good storytelling and creates a good performance for the audience. This is a show that does this.
Bachelor In Fine Arts is from America and the minds of Riley Elton McCarthy and Hope Johansen. It is a musical show based that delves into these two characters experiences when they were studying. It focusses on the relationships, the work and the experiences they have along the way.
This show is performed by only two people which can be a very difficult thing to do and I have seen many that have fallen or failed to make an impression, this is not the case with this show. The songs are well performed, the stories come to life with simple props and different characters and it is a really fun hour. It has the perfect darkness and sassiness you expect from a show about performing arts and university life.
The show has a simple set up on the stage but this works due to the fact that they are talking being at university it feels like it is sort of a metaphor for this as well.
This show is only running for today and tomorrow but if you are at the Fringe and have the time to see this show then take the leap and do it as it is a good example of clever storytelling.
