There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to the feature that will appear regularly in the travel section.

France is a wonderful place for photography – you come across so many different places that have a gem of an image for a photo. When you look back at these photos years later you get surprised just how pretty that particular area is all over again. That is exactly what happened with this photograph.
I was only in Biarritz for 24 hours but it was enough time for it to really highlight it’s wonderful and beautiful coastline to me. I took so many photographs in Biarritz as it is just so pretty. The photo that we are looking at today, I especially adore as it really highlights the complexity of area of it.
I love this building, I never found out what it was but it is really striking. The fact it is surrounded by the big boulders as well means that the more you look at it, the more you see in the photograph.
The bold blue sea and sky being back really good memories and the feelings I had when I first saw the view. It is one of those photos that you want to paint as it is so interesting.
Having the building in the right means that it creates a really interesting framing to the photograph and reels you into the photo. The small glimpse of the waves curling bring a real interest in the photo and breaks up the blue.
