Your latest single you have released:
Our latest single is ‘Wise Guy’, Laura was staying at my place while we were recording the album, and so was an old friend of mine. I got involved in a silly argument with my friend, which made us both upset. The next day was actually my birthday, and Laura wrote this wee song for me. I think she was trying to tell me how much of a know-it-all wise-guy douche bag I am, in an affectionate way, though… I hope…
Your favourite lyric in this song:
They’re a bit close to the bone to be honest, but I sort of had it coming. I suppose if you are not me then the bit where Laura says ‘Don’t let them tell you who to be, be yourself and then you’ll see, make your own philosophy’ would probably sound uplifting and empowering and not like a sarcastic character assassination, but since I am me I think I like the line that goes ‘do do do do do’ best. Genius.
Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:
My personal fave is ‘Grounded’, it’s Laura’s masterpiece, raw and honest, about facing the truth when you don’t want to. It’s written as a duo with another track on the album called ‘Butterfly’ which is the sugar rush of flying high and ignoring reality before you come crashing down to earth, which is what ‘Grounded’ is about.
The song that was the longest to write and why?
FIREWORK!!! We released it as an ode to the dying tradition of Bonfire night last year… it’s being taken over by Halloween now everything is being Americanised. We wrote it to a drum machine and it took me ages and several tries to figure out what the drums should do. I’m still not sure it sounds like it did in my head, I went round and round on it several times… Did we get it right in the end? I don’t know, you tell me….
One of your previous tracks you would recommend for first time listeners of your music and why?
Dead in the Water was one of the first songs we wrote as a band, I think that’s a good one to start with, since it’s where we started too.
Dream collaboration:
Maybe Billy Corgan would be up for producing our next single? Hoping he googles himself and this comes up… Hi Billy!
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
Well we have done live shows before in other bands so I can safely say we love the rush, it’s been a while though so maybe when we do our first FTW show we might be a bit nervous too!

My Fender Duosonic, the best sounding crap guitar there is!

‘Golden’ by KPOP Demon Hunters because then we’d be stinking rich and could pay for our next tour!
What we can look forward to from your band this year:
We’ve got two more songs coming out this year – ‘Apple Pie’ which, as the name suggests, is a nice summery song about enjoying life before your inevitable death, and then ‘Next Big Thing’ which is about how damn fashionable we are. We are basically the Crocs of bands… You’ll see. And maybe we’ll do a show…. maybe..
