You can always get a hint if a show is going to be good if the audience are queueing up around the block twenty to thirty minutes before a show even starts. That is exactly what happens for this show, it is sold out, it is in a huge lecture theatre and it is filled with all ages.

Gyles is a powerhouse and is a face that is always on the television screen – whether it be as a panellist on This Morning or telling the audience interesting facts on QI, he is always on the box with something unique to say. Now, not everyone you see on television is exactly the same when you go and see them live and I have had my fair amount of experiences where I have been disappointed with how they actually are. This is not the case with Gyles, in fact I would say put him in front of an audience and he becomes this blazing fire of energy and fun!

This show exceeded my expectations, I thought I was just going into a room to watch Gyles sit down and have an interview with his producer Harriet Jaine, this is as far distant from what actually occurred.

The highlight for me was that Gyles initially came onto the stage first before his producer – this automatically breaks down any ego of a star and automatically brings them onto a level that makes the audience feel a warm welcome. The energy he brings with him is electric and the stand up routine he does to welcome the audience is genuinely hilarious and could give some of the top comedians a run for their money. There is an essence of warmth that he brings as well on stage and that makes everyone of all ages laugh their loudest and automatically enjoy the show.

One thing that was marvellous about this show is that he welcomed on his producer Harriet Jaine like she was top billing which you do not get from many people and it shows again his kindness and enjoyment of sharing the stage with others. It is evident they enjoy working together and they are equals throughout the show she is not there to just interview she is there to help bring the show to life.

The show is loosely based on their hit podcast Rosebud where they interview celebrities about their memories. There are a couple of items on the table to discuss throughout the show as well which have some fun stories attached to them. I have never listened to the podcast and really enjoyed the show and learning about certain questions that made me even think about what my answers would be.

There are a few fun surprises thrown into the show such as musical pieces, games with the audiences and much more which makes this such a fun filled and entertaining show.

I can see why this show was sold out, there is so much to love about it as there is so much thrown in that you are not expecting. If you have a space in the afternoon I highly recommend it for something a bit different – that is if you can purchase tickets as it is highly popular.
