All this month we are celebrating areas around Edinburgh that you could visit as a day trip to have a short break from the hustle and bustle of the Fringe.
Compared to the other trips we have spoken about this month, this is slightly further a field but I would still recommend giving the city of Stirling a visit. It is really easy to get to from Edinburgh and there are both trains and coaches available to get there. The train takes around an hour to get to the city and costs around £12-£13.
So why should you visit Stirling?
Well, it is the home to many tourist attractions such as Stirling Castle, The National Wallace Monument, Old Town Jail and the Battle of Bannockburn experience to name a few. It is also a city bustling with shops, restaurants and cafes. There are some really interesting walks around the area as well.
It is a place that you head to and have a really good day and it will give you a great mini break away from the Fringe.
