It is festival season and that means that in the next month there is so many great comedy festivals to look forward to! This month we are looking at some of the great shows that you can see at the Edinburgh Fringe. So take note because we are going to give you all the information you need for just a handful of some of the great shows happening this year!

Hello! Tell us all about your show!

Hi! I’m Lee Minora, I’m the writer and performer of Baby Everything. Baby Everything is a one-woman, morning doomscroll through a day in the life of a girl named Baby, who is determined to enjoy her perfectly curated day off but keeps getting side tracked by her anxiety, her compulsive need to stay informed and political arguments with her Mom. It asks how much awareness is expected of us now; if the world is getting better or worse and what would happen if your mom was somehow Channing Tatum and then did a striptease dance for you where she admitted liberals were right all along? 

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

By pure luck there’s a bunch of great Philly-forged artists coming to the festival and I’m super psyched to see or re-see their stuff: Lions, 40 year Old Ballerino, Foriegner, Van Gogh Show and Penelope! 

I’m also excited to see Salty Brine’s show How Strange It Is, Kirsty Mann: CORPSE and “Be Good!” with Paulette. 

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe. 

I have, I came and did the free fringe a while back. Before I left for the fringe the first time, my friend, who had done it before, gave me a fringe survival kit with a poncho and blister patches and a box of travel tissues because he said there would be tears! All I ever heard before I came to the festival was how hard it was and then when I got there whenever something was not hard it was an utter gift. So assume it will be hell and then it will actually be hell and the best thing ever, the most emboldening. I left the festival the first time feeling like I could lift a car off a child or something, freak adrenaline strength. 

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

Buckle-up: my show is on at 10:10am so I feel like my routine is wake-up, get ready to do a show, coffee, breakfast, flyer, coffee, perform the show and then I’m free as a bird. Post show showers will be mandatory cause it’s a messy one, liquid is involved. So then I’ll go home and shower and then hopefully see a ton of shows, flyer more and go to bed! 

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe? 

Oh man, I always feel nervous answering a question like this as a non-local. But I have enjoyed a few meals at Mosque Kitchen. Also, years ago there was a cart that had bratwursts sandwiches. I know this sounds gross, but I ate them after my show constantly because it would be really late and they were one of the only places still open, and it really hit the spot! I wonder if they still exist. 

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

Oh I love collecting crazy audience interactions. My work is so influenced by the people in the room and I like coming back from fringe with wild stories of an old toothless man sucking chocolate off my fingers or embarrassing the hell out of  drunk hecklers. 

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?

I’ve brought my own pillowcase before and I’ll do it again. There’s just something kind of gross to me about a used pillowcase. 

What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?

Go to bed.  If you’re asleep you can’t spend money! The later you stay up the freer you tend to get with your wallet.
