It is festival season and that means that in the next month there is so many great comedy festivals to look forward to! This month we are looking at some of the great shows that you can see at the Edinburgh Fringe. Hello! Tell us all about your show!

Hello! It’s a show about being in an in-between phase of life, with parents, partner, and most pertinently, the prospect of getting bottom surgery. It takes its name from the footballer Thomas Muller, who called himself a Raumdeuter, meaning ‘space interpreter’, because he floated around generally causing mischief without being entirely one thing or another. This show is about football, so if you like football you’ll love the show, but also it’s not really about football so if you don’t like football you will also love the show.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

Tons! Abi Clarke, Abby Wambaugh, Adam Flood, Alex Franklin, and that’s just the As. Special shoutout of course must also go to Mothman: The Musical, which I can’t believe hasn’t been done before.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe. 

This will be my second Fringe with a full solo show, and my sixth overall. My only piece of advice is to do as much as you can for as long as you can until you physically can’t do any more, and then sleep for between three to five days.

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe.

Get up, observe the hovel I have found myself in for the month, feel quite nervous for about seven hours, do the show, then have literally the time of my life.

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe? 

There is a pizza place up on Nicholson Street called Pizza Post that has always been a go-to. It’s dine in which doesn’t feel very Fringe but it is delicious and not very expensive all things considered. And also Mosque Kitchen, if you don’t already know then you have been missing out.

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

Making people smile and laugh, and also fulfilling some deep psychic need to be the centre of attention.

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?

My girlfriend is often there, often also doing a show of her own, which helps a lot. A parent or two may also peruse, and a grandparent if it’s going particularly well.

What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?

Make friends with pass holders from as many different venues as possible.
