Hello! Tell us all about your show!

Remember, Remember! Is a ridiculously funny, campy, raucous original musical written and performed by 4 actor/writers who make up Wit? Theatre Company. It tells the story of the gunpowder plot as you’ve never heard it before. There are twists and turns and explosive action! We’re on at The Pleasance Queen Dome at 5:15pm throughout the Edinburgh Fringe 2026.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

We got to watch 10 minute extracts of some brilliant shows at the Charlie Hartill tryouts. They all looked amazing and we can’t wait to see them in their fully realised forms in Edinburgh. There are of course some amazing companies that consistently bring great work to Edinburgh Fringe but for me the fringe is mainly for discovering the work of exciting new companies that I’ve never heard of.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

I did a full run at the fringe about 10 years ago, but I tend to go each year for about a week to watch lots of theatre and enjoy the festival atmosphere. I think as a performer, the main thing I would say is pace yourself. A month of daily shows is a lot. Add to that flyering, promoting your show, socialising and networking as well as dealing with admin and it can easily feel overwhelming.

I’m going to remind myself to make time to enjoy it and not try and do everything.  Remember, remember (sorry, I had to) to rest when you need to. Even if you’re just going to watch shows that day plan proper meal breaks and time doing things other than racing from venue to venue.

If this is your first time – what are you looking forward to?

Last time I did a full run at the fringe I was employed as an actor only. This time I’m really looking forward to the excitement of taking a show that I co-created and co-produced!

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

This year I’ll probably aim to see about 2-3 shows most days as well as doing our show at 5:15pm each day at The Pleasance Queen Dome. I think that will keep me really busy. Last time I remember having to take days off from seeing anything just to get out of the Fringe bubble for a bit. I’d also like to make time to climb Arthur’s Seat and do some socialising with friends in Edinburgh too. And of course there’s always that non-performer life/job admin to keep up with!

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

I am always absolutely awful at remembering the names of places. I have eaten at some lovely places in Edinburgh but I don’t have one go-to place. I always trust local friends’ recommendations. I used to consistently go to a little Mediterranean place opposite the Gilded Balloon Teviot but I think it’s gone now.

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

The chance to meet other performers/makers and be the first to see some of the most exciting new work being created.

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?

I don’t really have any talismans as such. I like to have a robe and slippers with me when I’m staying in digs and/or backstage at the theatre (which I know won’t be possible in Edinburgh). It helps me feel more at home. I think all my other must-haves are practical things for vocal health like my nebuliser etc.

What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?

Have breakfast at your accommodation. Pack yourself snacks and lunches if possible. Eating out 3 meals a day (even a tesco meal deal) adds up.
