It is festival season and that means that in the next month there is so many great comedy festivals to look forward to! This month we are looking at some of the great shows that you can see at the Edinburgh Fringe. So take note because we are going to give you all the information you need for just a handful of some of the great shows happening this year!

Hello! Tell us all about your show!
It describes, through a monologue of an actor through the words of a writer one hour in a room with an audience and its implications outside the room and that event, in itself, is an important and ancient thing for us to do. Kind of.
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
Walk, bus use public transportation. Look at the city as a character and the flow of people are part of the show, and don’t get upset by the crowd. I’ve done the Fringe many times, get outside of the town a little.
Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe
I’m up in the morning doing some business in the US, then I’ll make my lunch while I eat breakfast. I’ll probably go over my lines for the show, then head out to see shows go to galleries. I take some time before my show to hang at the library its quiet and i don’t feel obliged to buy coffee, which works against me after a point.
Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?
Union of Genius on Forrest Rd, around the bend from the old Bedlam Theater. Great soups and sandwiches, and nice coffee, its around the corner from the museums and Greyfriars Kirk, where numerous performers in the 80’s had sex with their managers in the cemetery. You wont get that info on a tour.
Best thing about performing at the fringe?
Having the good show and being in the middle of it, grabbing a late meal after seeing a friends show or a strangers show and having a drink with them.
Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?
I have a little pillow i travel with made by my friend a costume designer. It’s strong and comforting and compact.
What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?
Pack a lunch. Coffees are expensive and you can spend a lot of cash on caffeine and alcohol.
If you are eating outdoors and seagulls are a problem, draw two black eyes on the container top. They’ll think its another seagull and they’ll leave it alone; unless they’re from Glasgow then they’ll try to fight it or fuck it. That’s actually worth giving up your chips for, in my opinion.
