Hello! Tell us all about your show!
It’s a brand new stand up show all about my time moving from Iran as a kid to the UK!
And it goes through different years right up to today 2026!
As you may or may not be aware Iran is hardly ever on the news!
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
I love seeing everything & anything! I love catching up with mates too, you don’t even need to see their shows cos they’ll tell you all about it! It’s hilarious, it’s like doing a post work shop of our shows with each other after the shows.
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
I’ve been doing Edinburgh fringe every year since I started doing stand up!
Most people wait until they’ve been doing standup for 5 or 10 years, but I didn’t realise, no one gave me that advice.
Every year, you learn so much about the fringe! Every year you get amazing regular audiences & also loads of new audience members who have stumbled across your show by chance.
One of my favourite times at the fringe is catching up with people who come every year to my show & come on the last show of the month & we go for milkshakes after the show!
Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe
At the start of the month I try and be good by doing a run in the morning, by the end of the run, if I can manage a short walk or stroll before 10.30am I’m winning!
Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?
So many great places, Nicholson street is great on a nighttime. Milkshakes & fries at 11.30pm, everyone’s a winner!
Best thing about performing at the fringe?
Meeting so many great people who have made the trip there, from audiences and staff and other performers, especially some who have come from different parts of the world who you know you may never meet again but it makes your fringe meeting them now.
Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?
A rice cooker and a steamer for my throat.
The rice cooker so that I can actually have some home cooked food at home at least twice in the mouth! And a face steamer for my voice.
What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?
Eat at home! Take 15 pairs of underpants and socks so that you only have to do a wash a couple of times during the month instead of each week!
If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?
I’m all over instagram, TikTok, Facebook page, YouTube & X.
My handle is @patrickjmonahan
And I have a website:

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?
Hugs, Iran & cake.
