It is festival season and that means that in the next month there is so many great comedy festivals to look forward to! This month we are looking at some of the great shows that you can see at the Edinburgh Fringe. So take note because we are going to give you all the information you need for just a handful of some of the great shows happening this year!

Heated Rivalry: The Musical Parody takes the beloved smash Sky/HBO/Crave show and turns it into a funny, filthy spoof with more pucking innuendos than should legally fit into one show. All the heart of the show is still there but we’ve taken the Shane/Ilya love story and given it the musical comedy treatment. Fans can expect to see their favorite moments from the show with a few spins on them, brand new scenes and bits that fill out the world. Even if you’ve never seen the original, the show is accessible to everyone – we can guarantee you’ll find something to laugh at! And it’s a full ensemble show with eleven performers.
Quick & Funny Musicals is our theater company. We all write together in a short period of time then stage the show right away . So for Heated Rivalry, we wrote the show in about 3 weeks then put it up in Los Angeles 2 weeks later. Since then we’ve sold out 6 performances in LA and audiences have been wild and energetic about the show!
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
We’re excited to see Couplet’s new show “Folk, Marry, Kill”, Ely Lyons new show “Woman on the Edge”, Mark Vigeant’s “Out There” and always excited to see any of the acrobatic or clown shows. And hoping to find shows like last year’s “The Time Painter” that use stage craft to unique effect to tell their stories. We’ll see what the word of mouth gins up!
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
As a company, this is our first time at the Fringe. But we have members who have gone previous years. The best advice they have is pace yourself, get sleep, drink water! But also see everything you can!
If this is your first time – what are you looking forward to?
We are most looking forward to being among so many artists and creatives doing unique and inspiring things. While performing our show is our first focus, being a part of the big theater camp vibe is very exciting!
Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe
We have an evening show so…probably sleeping in a bit. Then up and flyering in the mid morning. Some of our company is also performing in a children’s show run by another member of our company called “Vasthy and Friends” so we’ll take part in that. Then more flyering! Then a little vocal rest in the afternoons before we go on in the evening. And of course shows whenever we can see them. In the evenings, hanging in the various artist spaces around the festival and getting to know the other performers.
Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?
Wings Edinburgh. It’s a fun nerdy vibe place in old town. Though for our older company member may not be great for our acid reflux!
Best thing about performing at the fringe?
Getting to perform for a crowd that is there to see new work and wants to enjoy a great show. You have an audience that is engaged and enthusiastic!
Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?
Just each other! We’re a big cast so lots of support for the month.
What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?
Sandwich deals at Tesco!
