Hello! Tell us all about your show!

Guy Masterson and I have been planning this show for years…now the time seems to be right. It’s often been observed I look like Beethoven…and it’s quite possible I think and act like him too…

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

Nothing specific, I always take in as much as possible. Anything from the lavish productions to the pauperish productions in dusty church halls on the outskirts.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

At one time I think I was quite well known on the Fringe as ‘Marvin Hanglider’ and at one time probably held the record for doing more shows on the Fringe than any other performer.  I also performed extensively with the late Herbie Flowers (of Sky/Bowie/Lou Reed fame).

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

Up early practising the piano for hours then performing. Then taking in as many shows as I can.

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

I always try and eat in different places, there is so much choice.

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

Meeting like-minded people

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?

My violin. I used to busk at the Fringe to help finance what can be a very expensive experience. A few restaurants were happy for me to play round the tables in exchange for food, all very fringy.

What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?

Play the violin. Cycle in. Keep yourself in a state of permanent hunger, it makes your performance more edgy.
