Hello! Tell us all about your show!

My show is a Storytelling-cum-Standup-cum-Crowdwork show. A triple threat. Or perhaps a Triple Reassurance™ as I don’t want to be a threat.

As I write this I am 23 days away from turning 40. Which is fine. I am not bothered by it. Honest, I’m not.

I am content and like my life. I’d be happy for things to remain as they are. Same sized and similar seems good to me. Why do things have to be better? And why is better always BIGGER?

It’s going to be about my dog, my girlfriend, our neighbour, getting arrested in America, and NOFX vinyl among other things. It will also be about whatever the audience talks about. The audience will be there (hopefully) and I’ll talk to them. Why wouldn’t I? That’s where some of the best shows live – I just have to find them.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

I’m looking forward to seeing Adam Larter’s Can You Put A Tail On It? – a true fringe institution that gets better every year. This year he is also doing a show called Who Remembers the ‘90s?. I’ve seen a couple of work-in-progress versions of it and it is pure, unadulterated nostalgia and very funny.

For the algorithm and SEO optimization I am also looking forward to all the Saturday Night Line UK shows (Ania Magliano, Paddy Young, Larry Dean, Ayoade Bamgboye), whatever the Guardian, The Times, Time Out, Chortle and Beyond The Joke say are The Top 10 Shows of the Fringe.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

I have done the show every year since 2010 (except pandemic years and 2024). Do what you want and what you believe. See as many paid shows as you can afford to see, see as many free shows as you can. Sleep. Have fun. Don’t stress. It’s just 3 weeks and ultimately it doesn’t matter.

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

Wake. Coffee. Another coffee. Breakfast. See shows. Do a show. Ignore the urge to look at reviews (both mine and others). Nap. Snooze alarm. Nap more. See shows. Eat curry sauce and chips. Sleep. See friends. Repeat.

Where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

It used to be WIngs but I have high blood pressure now. Honestly, last fringe I most enjoyed my Homemade Doubles O’s (Overnight Oats).

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

Living my dream for 3 weeks. Hanging out with funny friends and making new ones. It’s the best three weeks of the year.

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?

Edinburgh is a home away from home. But I wish I could take my dog. And my girlfriend (if she’s reading this!)

What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?

Don’t spend any. Which is hard.

If people want to find out more about you, where can they follow you on social media

I am @TwiceBriceBrice on everything.

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

I. AM. FUNNY.
