Metroland Live: As Seen on TV is the final episode of Metroland Live TV Live and, for reasons that will become apparent, the last ever episode of television. Ever.

It’s a chaotic, nostalgic love letter to the days when everyone watched the same thing at the same time, before algorithms decided what we fancy on a Tuesday night. Back when telly brought us together… mainly by having us all sit quietly facing a box.

Now we’re dragging that experience onto the stage, where you can once again enjoy the magic of a shared cultural moment cultivated exclusively through an experience of sitting on your backside and watching something – only this time, we all have to leave the house.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

Em Humble’s debut, Rob Copland, Lil Wenker, Paddy Young, Andrew Doherty, Rosalie Minnitt, Rob Auton to name a few comedians. And Lois Toole’s play is gonna literally SLAY.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

Yes we’ve done it before. We came for the first time 2 years ago. Biggest advice: stock up on beans and be prepared to walk. Your venue will be hotter than you think. Don’t drive back to Newcastle three times a week. Also, don’t read reviews. Ask ChatGPT to dictate them instead.

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

Eat beans and getting our steps in – don’t forget to take your flyers everywhere.

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

Alby’s big hot sandwiches are mint. Snacks cafe for brekky too. Cushty.

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

Feeling part of a bigger scene outside of the north east and sharing our scally  geordie humour with Guardian readers.

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?

Nit cream and a box of Brown Ale. Oh, and a GameCube.

What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?

Play Nintendo. Drink Brown Ale. And don’t use all your nit cream up at once.
