Hello! Tell us all about your show!

It’s an autobiographical show about my life. From growing up in Tehran to chasing my dream of becoming a tv presenter in Los Angeles, and everything in between.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

It’s my first time at the Fringe, so I’m excited to see things I normally wouldn’t have access to. I’m especially drawn to female-driven, messy work. We often celebrate complicated male characters, especially on television, without questioning their likeability. But women are rarely afforded that same space. I love seeing female characters that don’t follow that same expectation.

If this is your first time – what are you looking forward to?

The energy of Edinburgh. Being surrounded by creatives. Discovering new talent and writing. 

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

Right now it’s been finalizing my script and working closely with my director. Rehearsals start soon, and I know things will get more intense from there.

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

 I’ll be googling all the spots! I love trying new places so I’m looking forward to plenty of food adventures especially with my family. Best thing about performing at the fringe? I haven’t done it yet. So this is a bit of a guess. But I imagine it’s the rawness of it. Coming from a live tv background, I love that rush. There are no redos, no filters, no edits. It is what it is, and I find that really exciting.

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away? 

I’ll be bringing my monchichi from my childhood (which makes a cameo on the poster). 

What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe? 

Please let me know! It’s so expensive. But if you’re going to invest in anything, it should always be on yourself.
