It is festival season and that means that in the next month there is so many great comedy festivals to look forward to! This month we are looking at some of the great shows that you can see at the Edinburgh Fringe. So take note because we are going to give you all the information you need for just a handful of some of the great shows happening this year!

Hello! Tell us all about your show!
Peter: A father dreams of dying, his daughter dreams of living, and a seagull dreams of being human…. Francis is caged in his home by devotion, duty and a diagnosis of motor neuron disease. A seagull offers an escape: it will nest inside and take control of body, killing him and freeing his pregnant daughter from the burden of his care. It’s a visceral exploration of what care looks like across generations as a child becomes a carer and a parent becomes a patient, all set to an electrifying original score.
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
Ben: Very excited to see the brilliant Ontroerend Goed’s Handle With Care, Hannah Reilly’s Roleplay at Summerhall and Internationaal Theater Amsterdam’s Angels in America at the International Festival.
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
Peter: Pace yourself. Be a tiny bit shameless. Talk to everyone. Get to know the people on just before and just after you – they can be the boost you need on a tough day, and you can be theirs. Revel in the fact that you are surrounded by people just as anxious and passionate and weird as you as you are about performing, and revel in it. And flyer across the street flyer from the guy shouting marketing his show with sexual innuendo. You’ll get everyone crossing as they try to avoid him.
Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe
Peter:
1. Wake up in Glasgow.
2. Summon the strength.
3. Run to the train station, grabbing a croissant and coffee and swearing you’ll prepare a proper, cheaper breakfast tomorrow.
4. Scroll Instagram to see if Netflix producers have tried to DM.
5. Get to Edinburgh and flyer all potential Netflix producers.
6. Get distracted by a street performer.
7. Do a panic poo.
8. Get ready for the show.
9. Spend the whole performance wondering which audience members are Netflix producers.
10. Do a relief poo.
11. Have a pint with your cast mates and give them relationship advice that you know is good but would never dream of actually following yourself.
12. Call your mother and tell her you’re eating well. Then call your father and tell him you have met many Netflix producers. Both of these will be lies.
13. Go see other brilliant shows and over-share about your poo routine to the older lady next to you.
14. Go home.
15. Go to sleep.
16. Have no dreams cause you’re already living them, kid.
Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?
Ben: It has to be Nile Valley Cafe. Great nosh, good prices and lovely humans. Honorable mention to Star Kebab Pizza House for a pizza in the early hours.
Best thing about performing at the fringe?
Peter: That you’re surrounded by people at least as weird, wonderful, terrified, ambitious, exhausted, drunk, elated, depressed, horny, erratic, funny and fabulous as you.
Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?
Ben: A very wise woman once told me to take your pillow whenever you’re away from home and you’ll sleep like a baby. I swear by it.
What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?
Ben: Eat at home if you can and make pack lunches. A well timed boiled egg is the ultimate get out of jail card. And a pre-show tinny on the meadows.
