Hello! Tell us all about your show!
Scary Movie 7 is my new show about fear, longing and eating my twin in the womb. It’s a stand up show with some spooky surprises (maybe) (haven’t decided yet) and it’s set mainly in The Void™ so if you’ve been there or know anyone who has then please send them my way.
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
This is so hard because all of them! I can’t choose! There are so many mad brilliant disturbing people. Dom McGovern, Rosalie Minnitt, Katie Norris, Chelsea Birkby for a small example.
I will also say that in my room (MB2) before me is Kate Dolan and after me is Sam Eley and if that’s not a dream blunt rotation I don’t know what is! I’ll be watching from the wings giggling and kicking my feet. And if you’re around earlier in the day, Eric Rushton and Roger O’Sullivan will be in there too and it’s scary to me how good and nice both of those boys are. Don’t trust them but do watch their shows.
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
Focus on your show. Everything else is literally none of your business!!!!!!!! And support your friends please (me, I’m your friend).
Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe
I’m staying in catered accommodation this year so I get breakfast every day and I’m really excited about that. I don’t really know what I’ll be doing each day beyond breakfast, but I expect I’m going to be eating a lot of eggs in different formats and maybe bacon some days and also beans hopefully, and potentially yoghurt as well. And then between breakfast time and my show at 10pm I don’t really know, I’d like to be invited if anyone’s doing anything? And I’d like to see other people’s shows. I’ll have eaten a good breakfast so I’m hoping to have a lot of energy and be on really good form throughout the day.
Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?
This year, the breakfast buffet! Also Ikigai Ramen, Mosque Kitchen, Noodles and Dumplings, or oven pizza in bed.
Best thing about performing at the fringe?
The moment at the end of the show when an audience member asks me, “what medication are you on?”
Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?
Crystals, tarot, and my worry dolls. I take them with me everywhere or else I burst into flames.
What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?
I have none. When I’m at Fringe I have to treat every day as if it’s my last. I deny myself nothing. Like I’m a dog the day before it’s put down.
If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?
Instagram! I’m on there 11 hours a day! @sarahroberts_69
And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?
I only need two words actually – flying baby
