There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them very rarely that they can create a sense of nostalgic for you, the listener. So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

Sky – Sonique

At the turn of the Millennium this was a song I remember strongly as it was always around on the radio. It was also incredibly catchy and always gets stuck in your head. If you haven’t heard it before, let me welcome you to the world of Sonique.

On the 19th June 2000, the single Sky was released by British DJ and singer Sonique. She originally was part of the dance band S’Express in the early nineties and then delved into being a solo musician in the noughties. Sky was the third single from.her debut album Hear Me Cry which was also released in the same year.

Sky was written by Rick Nowels and Sonique, produced by Rick Nowels, Chris Cox and Barry Hairns. It was released under the record labels of Serious and Universal

The single did really well in the charts and went into the top 10 in many countries including Austria (8), Croatia (1), Finland (3) Germany (11), Hungary (2), Italy (3), Romania (1) and US Dance Club (10). In the UK it became certified silver and went to number 2 in the UK singles and 5 in the UK Dance.
