Hello! Tell us all about your show!

“Be Fruitful” is a slide show explaining why I, as a morbidly obese homosexual, make no sense from a scientific or religious perspective, and thus should not exist AND it’s a brutally affirming story of love in a world that doesn’t have space for you. Also, it’s about fruit.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

I’m excited to see Connor Burns, I love Sophie Hagen, I think Nish Kumar is the funniest. I’m also a big fan of Olga Koch, David O’Doherty, and Rose Matafeo, and I’m excited to get to see them in person. And, of course, a bunch of my American friends will be there, like Kristin Schall, Tori Piskin, Justin Elizabeth Sayre, Demi Adejuyigbe, and the Heated Rivalry Parody Musical. I suppose I will have to watch them. And, of course, I’m looking forward to getting very drunk after my show and going to Stamptown and watching people fall down.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

I have never done the Fringe before. The most important piece of advice I’ve been given was “you have to get a publicist” .

If this is your first time – what are you looking forward to?

I’m looking forward to sweating in the poorly ventilated comedy venues of Edinburgh and eating new and exciting sheep organs.

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

I have never been to Scotland, but it is my goal to consume all colours of oatmeal-based meat puddings while I am there.

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

You’re asking me a lot of questions about something I haven’t experienced, so I’ll say the best part of performing at the fringe is being surrounded by friends and colleagues I haven’t met yet, basking in the charm of an ancient and storied city, and being the first person to win a Nobel Prize for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?

My blood pressure medications always make me feel special. Also, I have this thing that vibrates I sometimes put next to my taint (I believe you call this a “gooch”) before I orgasm, I may bring that. It induces a very special feeling.

What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?

People don’t realize that finding housing for the Fringe in the off-season is way cheaper. That’s why while my shows are in August but I won’t be showing up until February 2027.

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

I’m @guybranum on Instagram, Threads, Twitter, and everything, except Tiktok, where I’m @guybranumcomedy

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

Lots. Of. Jokes.
