Tennessee On My Mind

Your favourite lyric in this song:

I’m still twenty something, got a whole lot of nothing else to do here – than pick up my pen, maybe show my friends that I am breathing” – the opening line!

Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:

I’d probably have to go with Cleveland street !

Your favourite song to play live:

Dimensions! (Also on the album, later this summer)

The song that was the longest to write and why?

My song that took me the longest to write, is probably a song called “Comedown of my lifetime”. It will be on part 2 of the album, out this October. It was in the midst of the biggest breakup, with a lot of drama, bad habits and a lot of self-pity. I was probably crying so much, unable to get out of bed, that the agony behind the songwriting is why it took so long to finish. I wanted to give the song the exact depiction of what I was going through, but with that kind of pain it can be hard to find the words.

One of your previous tracks you would recommend for first time listeners of your music and why?

I love my song “Love Gone Breezy” so much. It was a different time and vibe, very London-inspired. It has RnB riffs, and a more sassy vocal – but everyone I show it to really do get into it!

Dream collaboration:

Probably Lana Del Rey. Ultimate dream, at least to write with!

Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:

A thrill mixed with nerves. I try not to think about it so much, and just pretend I’m playing a new song for my mom alone and showing it to her. That is the best way I can naturally just be myself.

The track that is most fun to play live:

I would have to say “Cleveland street” again!

Essential items you always take on tour with you?

My guitar, Jet-Set sun, and my true religion jeans.

A song released in the last few years by an artist or band you wish you had written:

Right now I am LIVING for “Pale Blue Eyes” and “I am yours, you are mine” by Joshua Slone.

What we can look forward to from your band this year:

My guitarist Anna, a girl from a small town up North. She has such a sweet and innocent soul, but once she gets a guitar in her lap she is like the biggest mix of girl next door and absolute rockstar. Every musician I have worked with in Norway have been so gentle with me, and really loving of the music. It is just a big family-kind-of feeling.
