Something that I love about concerts and Ice Hockey Games in America is that they fill the boring bit of the show which is usually a break with something entertaining for the audience. I went and saw The Offspring at the end of last year and something I loved was that they brought that vibe to their tour which was great.

Between Simple Plan and The Offspring playing, they didn’t just put on music – they made it a fun interactive experience for the audience – lookalike camera, dance camera, kiss camera, they had someone dressed up as a gorilla who would go around the crowd and interact with them – it was all simple ideas but great fun and the time passed quickly.

One thing it taught me was that breaks even at an improv show do not have to be dull . Whilst most shows have a break for toilet or for people to get drinks – why can’t it be fun? Why can’t you keep the show sort of rolling in a mellow sort of way, it will keep the audience entertained and also make you stand out from other improv shows – be unique and engage with your audiences! That is the best way to be! It also shows that you don’t have to be the norm and that you also have really thought of the situation.
