Tell Us about:
Your latest single you have released:
It’s called “Sweet Nothing,” and it’s about being maxed out on your social meter in a social setting and trying to push through. It’s the single off our upcoming debut album, “Nothing To The Branches,” out May 15th.
Your favourite lyric in this song:
“I can’t stop pulling this candy rope from out of my throat.”
Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:
We have a song called “Looking For a Way Out” from the upcoming album that I think is really weird and cool.
Your favourite song to play live:
Probably “Not Yr Boy” from the upcoming album. There’s a fun riffy bit that I always look forward to playing hehe.
The song that was the longest to write and why?
Hmm, perhaps “Resentment.” I don’t really know why, I just remember tinkering with it the longest. Before the studio and during the recording sessions.
One of your previous tracks you would recommend for first time listeners of your music and why?
I think “Constellation,” from our 2022 EP “…I’m Passing by My Truths as Fixed Points Only to Return” is pretty close to current band vibes? We’ve since expanded to become a five-piece, full band! But if you hate it, then try “cigarettes” because it’s totally different – although you may still hate it.
Dream collaboration:
I’ve literally never thought about this. Probably Hayley Williams, though?
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
I’m in this band with my best friends which helps me feel really comfy on stage. Then it’s just like “whelp let’s do our thing” and our thing is very cathartic. So something between catharsis and just hanging out.
The track that is most fun to play live:
Honestly “Sweet Nothing,” the new single, is always fun live.
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
Throat Coat (Slippery Elm).
Describe your fans in three words:
Very cool sweetiepies.
A song released in the last few years by an artist or band you wish you had written:
“special power” by Sadurn
What we can look forward to from your band this year:
Shows shows shows, a new record, and we will probably start fleshing out the next record soon after!
