Sometimes when you go away you want luxury and something that will make you feel wonderful after a stay. Well, today we are going fancy and looking at a hotel in central Edinburgh that I booked for one night away from the hustle and bustle of life and loved every minute of it.
The Scotsman is a four star hotel located on North Bridge. It is around a five to ten minute walk from the train station Edinburgh Waverley and a reasonably short walk from the coach station. It has the name Scotsman because it was the location for the newspaper of the same name for nearly a century.
Depending on what time of the year you book, you can get a decent room for a really reasonable price. When I stayed I wanted pure luxury so booked the Penthouse – however due to booking it at the right time, I got the room for a fraction of it’s normal price.
The hotel has a real majestic feeling about it and when you walk in it’s doors you feel the pure luxury and the warmness of the staff.
Now, I know that I stayed in the highest tiered room, so can only give my personal insight into my experience. The room was lovely, not was so big, quiet and was a wonderful stay.
Apparently there are rumours online that the place is haunted by a ghost but I never saw them and would definitely return after the experience I had.
